Toile - Lyden af skjulte steder

The sound of my hidden places
Listening to the sound and playing with it
My inner sounding world

Toile - Lyden af skjulte steder is the first solo release by violinist and improviser Anna Jalving. During the COVID-19 lockdown, with no access to concert halls or her usual working conditions, Anna took her violin to new places to rediscover her violinistic and singing voice in these strange times.

Through a mix of compositions and improvisations recorded in various outdoor locations and at the Museum Køn, Anna explores each site’s acoustic personality and invites listeners on a sonic walk through the city of Aarhus.

These places provide more than just a stage for the music in this record. Their acoustic and historic presence stands in like a live audience, providing the feedback and emotional resonance during a period of isolation from human contact.
